In 2007,Garden HotelSuzhou was one of three hotels in Suzhou to feature in Travel + Leisure's inaugural 'Top 100 Hotels of China', alongside Wu Gong Sheraton Hotel and Renaissance Suzhou Hotel.

On November 21, 2007, the CPC Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Suzhou Municipal People's Government declaredGarden Hotelone of the 'Advanced Collectives' for its superb reception and hosting of the 16th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival.

On March 31, 2008,Garden Hotelwas honoured in the 'LOHAS Reader's Choice Golden List of Travel' announced at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall.Garden HotelSuzhou was selected by readers as one of China's 'Eight Most LOHAS Hotels' according to "the standard of LOHAS, Green, Environmental Protection, and Health". It was among other fine hotels, including China World Hotel Beijing, Peninsula Hong Kong, Pudong Shangri-La Shanghai, Fuchun Resort Hangzhou, Shangri-La Qingdao, Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and Sheraton Jiuzhaigou Resort. With its beautiful garden environment, elegant decoration and warm service,Garden HotelSuzhou was the only hotel in Jiangsu Province to receive the prestigious award.

On August 28, 2008,Garden HotelSuzhou was recognised as a Five-star Standard Hotel by the China National Travel Bureau – the highest grade given to hotels in China.

On October 18, 2008,Garden HotelSuzhou ranked in the 'Top 100 Hotels of China 2008' by Travel + Leisure. Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou and Jinji Lake Hotel were the only other hotels in Suzhou to receive this honour.

In May, 2009,Garden Hotel– a state guesthouse with a history of over 57 years – was formally accepted by the China Time Honoured Brand Committee as China's 465th Time Honoured Brand. It is the only five-star hotel in China to hold this distinction.
